Teletherapy FAQ's

How do I register as a new client?

https://meetmonarch.com/therapist/taya-reed-lpc-s-owner-couples-and-individual-therapist-fresno-tx

Do I take insurance?

First, please know you do not have to use your insurance and you are welcome to use your pre-paid health benefits (HSA card) to pay for your appointment. If you want to use your out of network benefits we will give you information you can file with your insurance company. Payment in full is required at the time services are rendered.

I am currently in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare/Optum, BCBS and Cigna insurance.

Individual and Couples Therapy:

Counseling services will be regarded as private pay unless a qualifying diagnosis that meets medical necessity criteria is determined. Should the initial assessment not demonstrate medical necessity, insurance will not cover the services, and you will be required to pay out-of-pocket.

How do I prepare for a telehealth session?

You will need a fully charged Laptop, or tablet with webcam and audio connection. If you can, have your device plugged in and charging during our session, or ensure your device is fully charged prior to your session.  Earphones or headphones are strongly recommended to allow you to fully focus on the conversation. You will need high speed internet with a bandwidth of at least 10 mbps to prevent connection issues. Have your fully charged phone next to you as a back up, in case of any technical difficulties which may require you to switch to a phone call. Please have a quiet and private room to meet. Please ensure that no one else is streaming on other devices during the time of our session so that we can maximize bandwidth.

How often do we come to therapy?

We will decide together after our first session if it makes sense to meet weekly or every other week.

What does confidentiality and privacy look like with telehealth?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone and foundation of a positive therapeutic experience. Sessions are offered online through my EHR secure video conferencing software that’s extremely user friendly and designed to support you from the comfort of your home. Your privacy and protection of your personal health information is very important. I take it very seriously and use the strictest privacy measures and encryption for all communication with you.

What states do I serve?

I currently only see clients in the state of Texas.

What are my rates?

With insurance we will verify your benefits to determine your copay. Without insurance the rate for a 50 minute individual session is $125 and for a couples session it is $150.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations or to reschedule.  If your appointment is cancelled under 24 hours you will be charged $75. If you are more than 15 minutes past your appointment time I will log off and your appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged $75.

And finally why should I do online therapy?

To make therapy more approachable I have removed many of the hurdles that keep clients from making their first appointment by conducting teletherapy. Traffic, childcare, stress, parking, and travel time are a burden so relax in the comfort of your own home and join me for a session through the wonders of the internet. Not every client will be right for teletherapy. The first session will help you and I both determine if this is a good fit for you.
