I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor, as well as the founder of Sound House Therapy PLLC. With approximately 14 years of practice experience, the last four have been dedicated to establishing my private practice. As a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Master's degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University.
Being a domestic adoptee who has reunited with both birthparents since 2006 and 2008, I have developed a profound passion for assisting other adult adoptees in exploring their adoption identity. My unique perspective as both an adoptee and therapist equips me to offer specialized support. My therapeutic approach is dynamic and interactive, utilizing a blend of techniques from Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
Firmly believing in the importance of family, I strive to enable my clients to enhance all their relationships through a trauma-informed perspective that fosters a secure, nurturing, and cooperative environment.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers, including therapists, need to give patients/clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. The Good Faith Estimate will provide information on your expected out of pocket costs. You should expect to receive your Good Faith Estimate at least one day prior to your first appointment with me.
